TOPIC: LOVE CONQUERS ALL (3)
Jesus left Judea and departed again to Galilee. But He needed to go through Samaria.
Finally, in John 13, Jesus commands His disciples, and us, to “Love one another”, for “God so loved the world that He gave us the life of His Son”, so we could be forgiven and reconciled back to Him. Why is this important?
Sometimes in obeying God to love people, we will need to bend over backwards and even sacrifice. Jesus sacrificed the time for the long journey to Samaria. He suffered the inconvenience of being chastised by His disciples when they saw Him talking to a strange woman. Jesus also sacrificed His life through a painful death on the cross and separation from the Father. See the results of these sacrifices!
Many people have hurt us and we have taken the decision to shut the door in their faces. We may even be right. But God wants reconciliation and only love and sacrifice can achieve these. Man disobeyed and hurt God in Eden, and yet because of His love for us, He literally killed His Son to be reconciled back to us. We cannot do less.
Friend, why don’t you ask God to help you as you pray NOW that if there are people you need to be reconciled with, He will help you. And who knows, God may be preparing you to lead some people to Christ. Go ahead NOW and do it.
