TOPIC: LOVE CONQUERS ALL (2)

Jesus left Judea and departed again to Galilee. But He needed to go through Samaria.

John 4.3-4

So why would Jesus, a Jew decide to pass through a longer route which would take him through the almost forbidden Samaritan territory? Along with the fact that it was a longer route, Jesus was also found alone with a woman by His disciples, something alien to Jewish culture, especially a woman Jesus didn’t know. So why would the Lord deliberately commit these three serious infractions?

  1. To save a soul, the woman
  2. Who then evangelized a whole city and also saved them
  3. And ended thousands of years of enmity between Jews and Samaritans

In this act by Jesus, He exemplified two of the key ministries God called you and                      I: 1. Evangelism, and 2. Reconciliation. Central to the actions and results is the love of God. Jesus breached an ancient Jewish/Samaritan enmity to demonstrate the love of God. And see the amazing results.

We will conclude tomorrow by His grace.
