TOPIC: Don’t Be Afraid; Trust The Lord
“Do not be terrified, or afraid of them. The Lord your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you” (1)
If God was not aware that something or someone would make you afraid, He would not tell you not to be afraid or terrified. The Bible is full of accounts of many situations that terrified Israel as a people, and some specific individuals. Goliath was a terror to the children of Israel. After they disobeyed God, Adam and Eve were afraid when they heard His voice. David at some point was afraid that king Saul was going to kill him. Until God touched and changed him, Saul who later became Paul was a terror to NT believers.
There are many reasons why we are afraid. When we sense threat, pain or harm, we will be afraid. Every time I sit on a dental chair I am afraid because I always believe the dentist will do something that will cause pain. Twice I faced armed robbers, and was afraid because they were pointed the guns at me. When I also do something that I know God frowns at, I am afraid of the repercussions in my spirit.
But more than anything, God does not want any of His children to be afraid. We will continue tomorrow.
